# Data Package Viewer

## About

The Data Package Viewer is a tool designed to help review and analyze your Data Packages, without compromising your privacy.

### What is a Data Package?

Many platforms, such as Discord, allow users to request a copy of the data they have collected about you, often referred to as a Data Package. These can be quite large, use JSON or similar data formats, and generally do not come packaged along with any tools to enable you to easily review.

### Does my data stay private?

Yes. Uploads are processed locally in your browser, ensuring that your Data Package never leaves your device. The platform your Data Package is from may still share what they've collected with others, so be sure to review their privacy policies and practices.

### Do I need to re-process my Data Package every time I visit?

No. Once you process a Data Package, it gets saved to your browser's built-in database, making it available to reopen later. Until you clear this website's data in your browser's settings, you can return to the site at any time and view your results without needing to process your Data Package all over again.

### How can I know for sure that my Data Package isn't being sent anywhere?

Everything required to process your Data Package is loaded when you visit this page. Nothing from your Data Package gets uploaded, and no external scripts are loaded while your data is processed. If you'd like, you can disable your internet connection or watch for outbound data in your browser's developer tools for network activity.
